Curriculum Vitae
Tymur Melnyk was born on
July 09th, 1985 in Kiev, the capital of
Ukraine.
He
started studying violin at the School for Musically Talented
Children in 1991 with his mother, Prof.
Hanna Melnyk,
as his teacher.
He has won
the following prizes:
1995: 1st prize at an International Competition in
Stressa (Italy);
1996: 1st prize on a music festival in Yugoslavia;
1997: 2nd prize at an International Competition in Czech
Republic;
1998: 1st prize at an International Competition „Quest
for Talents“;
1999: 1st prize at a Presentation of talented children
in Yugoslavia;
1st
prize on a Chamber Music Competition (Italy) with his sister
Maria Melnyk;
Scholarship from the
„Herbert von Karajan Centrum“,
Vienna;
2000: Semi-Finals at „Yehudi Menuhin“- Competition in
Folkstone (England);
1st
prize at an International Competition in Bled (Slovenia);
1st
prize at an International Competition „Premio Monterosa
Kawai“ in Scopello (Italy);
2001: Semi-Finals at
„Valsesia Musica“
- Competition (Italy);
2002: Laureat of „Czifra Foundation“ (France);
2004: Scholarschip from the “Schinner Stiftung”, Vienna;
Scholarship from the “Wolfgang Boesch Stiftung”, Vienna;
2005: Scholarschip from the “Schinner Stiftung”, Vienna;
2006: Special prize at the
„Henri Marteau“
International Violin Competition (Germany);
Since
the year 1997 Tymur studies in the class of Prof.DDr.h.c.
Michael Frischenschlager at the University of Music and
Performing Arts Vienna, where in 2006 he got his “First
Diploma” with excellence (~equivalent to Bachelor degree).
