Tymur Melnyk

was born in Ukraine. He started playing violin at the age of six in Serbia, with his mother, Prof. Hanna Melnyk, as a teacher. He was accepted as a student in the University of Music and performing Arts Vienna when he was fourteen. Being a student of DDr.h.c.Michael Frischenschlager he got his “First Diploma” with excellence in 2006.

Awards and prizes in many European countries (a.o. Italy, England, France, Slovenia, Germany).

Concerts in Europe (a.o. Austria, France, Germany, Spain, England, Italy), Japan and Canada.

Scholarships from prominent foundations, a.o. from “The Karajan Stiftung”.

Workshops and consultations a.o. with Prof. Hanna Melnyk, Prof. Eugenia Chugayeva, Maestro Vladimir Spivakov, Prof. Zakhar Bron, Prof. Dora Schwarzberg, Prof. Igor Petrushevski, Prof. Bohodar Kotorovich, Prof. Klaus Maetzl, Prof. Stefan Kamilarov.

Active participation as a violinist a.o. within the "Austrian Society of Contemporary Music (ÖGZM)", “Kunst in der Kapelle”, “Allegro Vivo Music festival” led by Maestro Bijan Khdem-Missagh, “Friedrich-Stellwagen-Orgeltage”.

Tymur is living in Vienna at the moment, studying for the Master of Arts degree in the University of Music and performing Arts.
